I found inspiration from my country roots for this look. I grew up on a farm in the heart of the Midwest, Wisconsin.
Plaid, leather and some Croc embossing does the trick!
Now that it's spring you never know what weather you'll get. Layering is key to survival this time of year! I usually do light layers with fun textures and colors.
My vintage cowl neck sweater vest was found at St. Vinnies in Madison. I love thrift shopping for newer and vintage items. The excitement is in never knowing what you'll find! As you can see I layered that with some new items like my plaid button down and sparkly sweater from Express.
This leather vintage Brighton bag reminds me of a saddle, rich brown leather a fun braided strap and the chunky hardware is very cowboy chic. My Bed|Stu boots really give my look a western twist. Their toe box is more square than round and long similar to cowboy boots. I got mine from (shoo) the fall before last. If you are looking for more western styled boots I would definitely check out what else Bed|Stu has to offer.
A close up of the Croc embossing was necessary! :) Also this bag has an awesome strap and is the perfect size! I found it at a Goodwill in Green Bay, WI while I was there late last week and for only 10 bucks! One last thing that makes this bag perfectly Midwest is the huge silver buckle with etching! Looks just like a bull riders belt ;)
In my opinion, warmer weather brings more western and festival inspired looks! make sure you get some fun western inspired pieces before summer arrives!
