Holiday Lookbook

This past week I have been wearing what I would consider as great Midwest Christmas attire, and I wanted to share the ideas with you! You don't have to dress fancy (unless you want to of course) to show some Holiday cheer.

Country Christmas Chic
This look has pops of green and red with a country twist. I gravitate to sweaters with reindeer on them around the Holidays so when my mom got me this cute wool vest I was pumped! This look is simple for your everyday activities but festive.
boots - F+B
plaid flannel - Eddie Bauer

Vintage (no)snow Princess
This winter look has some elegant vintage pieces incorporated into it. The fur coat, evergreen turtleneck and chained cross body are all from a previous era. Mixing these pieces with a few modern day items like the tan heeled booties was a great way to achieve a winter wonderland look The necklace also reminded me of ice.
hand crafted booties - Bed|Stu

Classic Green & Red
Whenever I see green and red together I think of Christmas. This time of year is great for that combo for an easy Holiday flare. Add a little glitter or shine with jewelry or accessories and you are ready to open gifts and eat some cookies. This vintage sweater is great because it has that little extra holiday shine and my metallic boots complement the print.
festive boots - John Fluevog

Golden Holidays
I had another vintage sweater that was perfect for this season and the Holidays! A little shoulder pad action and glitter goes a long way! The sweater is the star of this look with a few added pops of gold to match from my rings to the purse hardware and even some gold eye shadow. This look is festive without your standard Holiday colors and would be great for a chill NYE also!

Welcoming Winter

The first official day of the Winter Equinox is next week on the 22nd, so I am only getting prepared. I am grateful that we have had a mild fall/winter so far but you never know what is to come during January in Wisconsin.
So bundle up while being cozy and cute.
This look features a vintage fisherman's hat that was made in Greece and a grey leather bag, which colors look great with the creams and burgundy splash from the pants. Like I have said over and over, layers are a must but because we have had mild December temperatures we don't have to dress like eskimos… yet…
classy cross body bag - Bed|Stu
splash of color pants - H&M
fabulous fingerless mittens - Pointelle Design
I love, love, love my new sweater from Madewell! The color simply goes with everything and the quality is top notch! it's simplicity with small details that go unnoticed makes this sweater my favorite this season!
the layered look sweater - Madewell
And don't forget about the shoes… with temperatures staying above freezing I was able to take my pointy Tux shoes for a spin. The neutral color worked perfectly with this look and paired well with the dress vibe from the pants.
suede sneaker-ish - All Black footwear
Just because temperatures are dropping doesn't mean your style has to.

Purple People Eater

Yes, you probably thought that I would be wearing something else to match the blog title a little more,  but I felt like an edgy purple monster while wearing this outfit :) I only mean that in the best way possible.
These are one of my new favorite boots from this fall. They are so comfortable and just the right amount of sass to finish off this look! I decided to wear tights under my highly distressed jeans not only for warmth but for the vibe the layers gave off.
loved boots - A.S. 98
distressed denim - Hollister
faux (but fab) fur vest - COTTON ON
Silver is totally what I gravitate too and that didn't change for this look. I wore a silver statement necklace to add a little class to the sass ;) It also looked great against the black turtleneck.

Pop of Plaid

Okay, so you may know by now that I am obsessed with plaid this time of year. Not only do I like bringing it into my wardrobe in the form of button downs, but just adding a pop of it can go a long way!
I have also been wearing a lot of turtle neck shirts and sweaters this year too! It just makes sense! It is a great way to keep you warm with and without a scarf, great for a day of running errands so you don't have to worry about getting too toasty going in and out of heated stores. This outfit is a perfect example of good layering, it kept me warm without overheating.
These pointy booties were an easy way to dress up my look, comfortably. The texture on the toe complemented the rest of the texture in the outfit from the wool scarf to the turtle neck top.
double monk strap booties - Circus
sleek black pants - Liverpool
cotton button down with pockets - Madewell

December at the Beach

One thing I miss most about Summer is a nice beach day. If you want to walk on some sand this time of year you're in a jacket and boots - in Wisconsin that is. Get out and go on a fashionable adventure before it's too cold!
This outfit is full of fall favorites; knit accessories, leather jacket, chelsea boots, plaid and even a sweater under it all! This outfit is pretty close to the definition of fall fashion. My personal opinion, layers are the best style this time of year… so show them off!
