Fabulous in Floral

Below is another cute outfit captured by the one and only Karlee Mikkelson Photography. Please excuse my very white legs! These photos were captured before I could get that Summer glow! ;)

I LOVE mixing Patterns! I find it easier to do it when one pattern is simply black and white. Don't be afraid to give it a try! You'll be happy that you went for it :)
We had a lot of fun with accessories during this shoot and took a lot of portrait shots as well. Karlee did some great photography work behind the camera but having simple makeup with a touch of pink Burt's Bees Lip Crayon also helped complement the Summer attire!
The white Boxed WaterExpress sunglassesH&M Hat and local jewelry really pulled the floral look together! This look was Fresh and easy to wear! The bright colors of the vintage top from Good Style Shop mixed with the bright white from the shorts kept me looking cool and ready for the sunny days Summer has to offer!
Local jewelry artists that I wore
Pointelle Design-necklace    Lacey Amber Jewelry-rings and stud earrings    Mikinora-Bracelete
All artists can be found at (shoo) on State Street!
Fabulous floral pairs perfectly with fabulous platform wedges, always! My Chocolat Blu slider platform wedges are from (shoo). I have had them for a couple of years now and I wear them every Summer! They are great for both casual and formal outfits and are nice to your feet too!

Black+Blue

If you're reading this from Madison WI you know all about Maxwell Street Days, but just incase you need a little reminder or some new knowledge here ya go!
Maxwell Street days originally started in Chicago IL where you could get great deals from shops during a street wide sidewalk sale! A store here on State Street decided to piggy back off the idea 40 years ago and here we are, a huge sale weekend here in the Capital City.

Hoping no one got black and blue bruises from fighting for deals, I wore some of my great finds from Urban Outfitters on State Street and (shoo) by the Capitol creating a classy look with black and blue.

The asymmetric black dress was a perfect match to my new Trippen shoes. This dress originally did not come with the ribbon belt but I added it on from my closet to create a fitted look. Adding the black hat really classed up this look! Sometimes girls just need to dress up for no reason at all.
I have some fun blue leaf like vintage jewelry that I wore and it stood out so well against the black material. Also notice the ever so fashionable hair tie around my other wrist, I can't go anywhere without it! :) Even though I used a different shade of blue for my nailpolish it worked well to give this look a cool summer vibe .
As always I wear a lot of the jewelry that I have made myself! The minimal sterling jewelry worn with this outfit is all Lacey Amber Jewelry. The Big moonstone ring was a great find from a tattoo show a few years back.
Drum roll please....... I introduced the Trippen EL to my shoe collection over the weekend and they are perfect! This is my third pair of wedges from this brand, but each pair is still so unique. Comfortable and fashionable as always, this German brand is a real crowd pleaser!

Lake Lyfe Chic

Casual and chic may be one of my favorite ways to dress and in the Summer it can do no wrong! My boyfriend and I have always enjoyed taking trips out to Devils Lake, Wisconsin to catch some rays and admire the crystal clear water. Dressing nice and appropriate for the weather can be hard but this outfit seemed to be just right!
This summer I have been obsessed with my H&M shorts, you may have noticed by now :) I wear them so often because they can be casual or dressed up to be more formal. My swimming suit top was a Target find from last year.
I didn't wear a whole lot of accessories for this trip, wouldn't want to loose any rings in the water! I wore just two statement rings, stud earrings and a bold vintage necklace to match my suit top. Couldn't leave the house without some shades so I grabbed my TOMS shadesBed|Stu sandals, and vintage Dooney bag and we were off!
Using the large open knit top kept me cool and covered and gave my outfit a nice Summer twist. What are some of your favorite Summer layering pieces?

Cool & Comfy

We have had some hot days here in Madison over the past few days, so I have been dressing cool and comfy to keep up with the heat! Comfortable clothes and edgy attire make for a reliable look!
My Slinged Up Sanuk sandals are so very comfortable with a trendy flare. The bottoms are made from yoga mats while the top fabric is soft and ties up with ease.
I layered a lot of simple jewelry to give it an edgy look and that complemented the studded bag and black crop top. I repeated the flower theme from the top in my high waisted shorts, and both were found at UO on State. All the jewelry is locally made.
Thanks for reading! Stay cool and comfy this Summer!

Matchy Matchy

Most of the time I don't match my accessories like I did with this outfit, but its fun to do it every once in a while. The details take center stage for this look.
My leather shoes, belt and bag are all Bed|Stu that I got from (shoo) Madison. The booties have beautifully formed to my feet over the last few years. The belt and bag were recently added to my collection this summer. The tan leather is great for summer especially but also is great for transition months!
I chose to wear gold with the tan and red ensemble because the gold tones complement the tan distressed leathers. The whole outfit gives off a warm vibe with simple accents.
The red fitted dress was an easy choice to wear with these accessories because it helped make them pop. The casual three quarter sleeve dress is perfect for a day to night look with the added hight from the heeled booties.
