Peacocks and Fringe

I purchased this dress nighty hoping for a comfy nights sleep, turns out this awesome red piece is great for day wear as well! The silk tank was on a hanger and as soon as I added the tan fringe bag I knew the rest would be history! A very unexpected combo that turned out great!

I loved the simple tank dress look but a layering piece is always nice to have, so I grabbed a light denim jacket before heading out of the house this morning!

I picked out my jewelry so it would match the colors in my dress, and yes I wore both silver and gold! I am not afraid to mix metals! In fact, I like the combination more often than not! I also happened to have tiny beaded bracelets from Pointelle Design that matched perfectly and can be found at (shoo) in Madison! My sterling jewelry is newly made Lacey Amber Jewelry pieces. My gold layered necklaces and rings are vintage.

I pulled out some heeled oxfords from Jeffrey Campbell that I got from (shoo) a couple of fall seasons ago, but they totally work for spring too! The stacked heel gives a feminine finish to the look. You also can't go wrong with some cute shades and a stylish purse. My trendy cross body above is from Bed|Stu.

Pull together an unexpected combo this season and run with it! It's a good time :)

I got it from my Momma

I love jumpsuits and I love this one even more because its from my momma's closet! I find the best vintage stuff from my mom's old wardrobe. This outfit is a perfect example of mixing old with the new.

On Tuesday I had a full day planned for me, and I had to wear an outfit that would transition from day to night easily all while dressing more formal than regular work days because of the evening event I took part in. My red jumpsuit was perfect paired with my H&M sweater.

Like I said earlier, I was going to be out of the house all day. So what better shoes to wear than my black CYDWOQ shoes that are made in the US. These flats have a dressy touch to them and helped complete my genie look.
Purchased from (shoo)

I kept the accessories simple so I wore all Lacey Amber Jewelry that I hand make here in Madison! Most of my items are minimal and made of sterling silver.

If you don't already have a jumpsuit or a romper I would highly suggest getting one! I am a biker and its hard to wear dresses or skirts while biking but when it's all one piece with legs its a great combo in my opinion!

Fluevog Day!

Yesterday was Fluevog day! You have to be a pretty sweet brand to pull that off! To join in the festivities I wore my Preet boots from JF and planned the rest of my outfit around them.

I wore a metallic top and a silver necklace to help accent my pointy boots along with white shorts to try and make my legs look like they had a golden glow! I also wanted to keep my outfit looking a little more formal.  We have some amazing (h(om)e) bags at (shoo) so I slipped into one of the crossbody styles and rocked the artsy look.

Metallic greatness up close and personal. I purchased these beauties from (shoo)!

Join the Fluevog gang and you'll get hooked!

PT Casual

Some days you just have to dress to hang out and keep it casual. PT Casual is the name of the All Black shoes I wore with my black and white attire but I have started referring to PT Casual as a general style since these cool sneakers came through (shoo)'s door!

As I said earlier I have started talking about PT Casual not only as a shoe style but as a way to dress yourself. It's sporty, sophisticated, and of corse casual.

The Casual: my Banana Republic and the EXPRESS sweatshirt that also worked to amp up the sporty side.
The Sophisticated: the metallic rubber purse and my All Black leather sneakers
The Sporty: Wiskullsin hat, sneakers and striped sweater.

Not many days go by when I don't wear some of my Lacey Amber Jewelry. Sterling Silver helps keep this outfit looking sophisticated.

I found this cute timeless rubber purse from Beijo at St. Vincent thrift shop in Madison.

I repeated mesh in this look several times. You can find it on the backside of the trucker hat, stripes on the sweater and a hint on the vintage track jersey I layered under the cropped sweater. I enjoy the challenge of reusing elements in my looks.

Thanks for swinging by to check my Outfit!

Handmade fashion on Point

Supporting local artist and buying US made items has made a comeback and is a requirement to some. My outfit below is styled almost entirely with handmade items in America, and most are made from local artists here in Wisconsin.

This awesome handmade tunic sweater is made from the very talented Laura Walgenbach, owner of Pointelle Design in Madison WI. She specializes in hand-knit accessories like headbands, scarves and fingerless mittens. She also makes great warm weather items too, like lightweight scarves, fashionable headbands and new to the mix are cloth button earrings and braided fabric necklaces. Needless to say she is a talented busy bee!

Here is her ETSY shop

Showcased above is some of my crafty jewelry work along with an example of Laura's fashion headbands. I have been making jewelry for almost two years now and just in recent months I started selling. I work mainly with sterling silver and specialize in the cute little geo studs. You can find my jewelry at (shoo) in Milwaukee and Madison, also on my ETSY shop.

And of corse, you can't forget the shoes! These ultra sleek flats are made right in the US! Yes, I know thats hard to believe but the CYDWOQ brand is handmade right in California! You can find other cool styles from this brand at (shoo)

(shoo) is a locally (and family) owned shoe store. You can find both mine and Laura's work at the Madison location.

May Flowers

We have had some beautiful days so far in May, and a few rainy ones but the thing to remember is the showers will bring flowers! The grass is growing greener each day and it brings us closer to Summer. So to celebrate the blossom of new life, I wore these groovy vintage pants from my dear friend Becca of Secondhand News! She will be leaving the Madison area this spring to grow onto her awesome life in a new career adventure!

I May have gotten a little carried away with the flower thing, but hey... its fun! I wore vintage floral jewelry and a white lace tank to top off my outfit. And as always I had to wear some of my handmade rings! I wear something that I have made basically everyday! You are what you eat, or something like that.

What's a girl to do without a cute pair of shoes to polish off her look? I don't really know because I shop and work at (shoo) and there is just too many great styles there to pass up! Like my Bed|Stu heeled oxfords, handmade leather shoes, style meets comfort for sure.
